Much of the passive solar heat is absorbed by the brick mass of a masonry heater that sits directly behind the window area.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Il n\u2019y a pas de fen\u00eatres du c\u00f4t\u00e9 nord et la maison est prot\u00e9g\u00e9e du vent du nord car elle est situ\u00e9e en contrebas de la cr\u00eate d\u2019une colline.<\/p>\n<p>Chaque fois que c\u2019\u00e9tait possible, les mat\u00e9riaux de construction provenaient d\u2019une source locale.\nAucun mat\u00e9riau artificiel ou usin\u00e9 n\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 dans la construction, ni aucune substance toxique.\nLes murs R20+ et les plafonds R40+ sont isol\u00e9s \u00e0 la fibre de cellulose.\n\nToutes les fen\u00eatres sont \u00e0 double vitrage, isol\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019argon et \u00e0 faible \u00e9missivit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Il y a deux toilettes \u00e0 compostage et un r\u00e9frig\u00e9rateur passif.
